Bring backing tracks or sheet music as we will have a musician there.

Be curious and ask questions about the lecturers and the programme as well.
Show us if you have demo singing tracks or a DVD from a previous performance to submit we will include this with your application.*
Relax and have fun.

Manukau Institute of Technology’s (MIT) School of Performing Arts showcased the immense talent of its students in their very first production in August 2011, when they took on Arthur Laurent’s 1950’s classic West Side Story. The performance of this classic Broadway musical, directed by David Coddington - Head of School of Performing Arts, marks a new direction for MIT bringing together the creative skills of students from the Faculty of Creative Arts and across the Institution.
Director of Academic Operations at MIT, Peter Quigg commented, “This ambitious undertaking is a first for MIT, as this is the debut year of our new Performing Arts programme that we have developed in conjunction with South Seas Film & Television. We know you will be impressed by the professionalism of the performers and thoroughly enjoy the show. Our students have banded together to make this production possible with Visual Arts students assisting with key design elements, Building and Construction students assisting with the set construction, and our Hair and Beauty students who are responsible for the stunning looks of the cast.”
The creative spirit of Manukau Institute of Technology's Faculty of Creative Arts blasted onto the stage with performers fully embracing their characters with mature voices and a little added South Auckland flavour.
A second season of West Side Story was also performed at the Bruce Mason Theatre on Auckland's North Shore in October 2011.
